Nominator's project description
| Professor Lisy is well known internationally for his outstanding research to the study of non-covalent interactions. He has made important contributions to characterize these interactions at the molecular level. Professor Lisy is also recognised for his fundamental studies of ion solvation, focusing on the delicate balance between the electrostatic ion-molecule interactions and solvent-solvent interactions by combining mass spectrometric methods with infrared laser spectroscopy. During his stay in Germany, he intends to investigate ion solvation at ultracold temperatures. This will allow investigating the influence of the temperature and the cooling matrix - suprafluid helium nanodroplets - on ion solvation in detail. |
